Persatuan Child Sabah / Walk For Autism donating RM5k to Persatuan Untuk Orang Pekak Tawau (PUOP) and Persatuan Hope Sabah


KOTA KINABALU, Aug 23, 2014: Persatuan Child Sabah organized its inaugural Walk for Autism earlier this year on April 5th, 2014 at Perdana Park Tanjung Aru over 1, 500 walkers participated and hundreds more came to the night concert after the walk to support the cause.

The objective of the walk is to create awareness on the autism spectrum a neurological disorder that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people and it usually goes unnoticed until a child starts school.

Supported by Perdana Park Tanjung Aru and Timatch Sdn. Bhd., Walk for Autism 2014 successfully raised RM5,000 for Persatuan Untuk Orang Pekak Tawau (PUOP) and Persatuan HOPE Sabah. The cheques were presented by Walk for Autism Sabah’s chairperson, Jaqueline Lingham. PUOP also hosted a mini Walk for Autism in Tawau with over 100 walkers on April 5th, 2014.

Next year, Walk for Autism will be held on April 18th, 2015 (venue TBA) and Persatuan CHILD Sabah hopes that the community will support the cause and take part in the walk.
