1. Glossy lip gloss

Ingredients
1 teaspoon grated cocoa butter
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon sweet almond oil
1/2 teaspoon beeswax
1 teaspoon aloe Vera gel

Method
If the cocoa butter is solid, you can grate it first using a fine grater. Heat the cocoa butter, coconut oil, almond oil and beeswax together in a double boiler until it melts. Remove it from the heat and stir in the aloe Vera gel. Whisk everything together and pour the mixture into a small, sterilised container and then allow it to cool completely.

2. Think pink lip tint

Ingredients
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
10g beeswax
1 tablespoon beetroot juice
4 drops peppermint essential oil

Method
Slowly heat the oil and beeswax in a double boiler. Remove it from the heat and gradually add the beetroot juice, a teaspoon at a time until you get the colour that you like. Whisk it well with a fork or a small whisk. Add the peppermint essential oil, whisk it again and transfer it into a small sterilised pot.

3. Beetroot and glycerine cheek and lip tint

Ingredients
45g grated beetroot
3 tablespoon vegetable glycerine

Method
Put the beetroot and glycerine on top of a double-boiler. Heat it slowly for 15 minutes, cool then strain into a small jug. Pour it into a sealable container. Shake it before use then apply a dab to your cheeks, blending it well at the same time then try dabbing it on your lips too.

4. Rosebud lips

Ingredients
75ml olive oil
1 teaspoon jojoba oil
45g chopped dried alkanet root
20g beeswax
9 drops of rose essential oil

Method
Slowly heat both oils on top of a double boiler for about 10 minutes. Remove it from the heat and add the alkanet root and steep for around 30 minutes to extract the colour from the root. Strain the root from the oils through a muslin cloth and compost the root. Return the oils to the double boiler with some beeswax. Once this has melted, remove from heat and add the rose essential oil, drop by drop. Pour into small, sterilised pots or jars. Allow to cool thoroughly before capping.
